Company Commercial Lawyer
Ref 02.1086

We are working with an established London based boutique law firm that continues to punch above its weight, gaining accolades alongside Magic Circle and other major law practices. The firm provides clients with a proactive and refreshing approach, excellent legal counsel and expertise at tremendous value. High levels of work dictate an immediate need to bring in an experienced company lawyer focused on private companies and shareholders.

Due to the nature of the work, the firm seek an accomplished UK qualified solicitor with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience at another rated UK legal practice. This is no cookie cutter role, but one who thrives on building and maintaining close client relationships and gaining the autonomy and career advancement associated, rather than mundanely conducting huge, numbers driven transactions day in and day out.

Client focus is on profitable private companies, owner managed businesses and entrepreneurs offering a considerable breadth of work. Accordingly, it will ideally suit a transactional lawyer, with a proven legal track record and strong drafting/negotiation experience of advising on share transfers, HMRC and unapproved option plans, investment rounds, resolution of shareholder and partnership disputes and tax issues arising on share transactions. Experience of tax litigation and Intellectual Property law would also be an asset but is not essential.

You’ll need to be an energetic, client facing and entrepreneurial team player, comfortable working alongside Partners and other senior lawyers on complex issues whilst running your own matters. Ideally you’ll be at a senior level or possibly a partner already, seeking to gain greater independence or looking to lead and develop an existing team. All the firm’s lawyers enjoy proactive involvement in client development, backed up by its highly active marketing and support initiative. From the outset you should be ready to substantiate this as another impressive element of your legal skill-set.

Reassuringly, the firm's lawyers are serious about their work and clients, but never take themselves too seriously, so seek like-minded colleagues with a sense of enjoyment and a flexible, confidently calm and outwardly positive demeanour. The firm will also consider those wishing to work part time or full time with flexible hours.
